If you like spending time in the great outdoors, then Woodworth is the place for you. Camping, canoeing, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, scenic byways…the best Mother Nature has to offer can be found in Woodworth.

Alexander State Forest is an 8,000-acre established in 1923. Although originally intended to be the first of several state-owned demonstration forests, today, Alexander State Forest is the only one.

The Inland Fisheries Division of LDWF recognized the limitations of the Department’s Hatchery System, and in the Division’s 1989 “Advanced Planning Document”, estimated a Florida largemouth bass production shortfall of 4 million fingerlings per year.

The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a public work relief program that operated from 1933 to 1942 in the United States for unemployed, unmarried men from relief families, ages 18-25. 

Indian Creek Recreation Area is Louisiana’s premier outdoor recreation facility. Known throughout the nation as an example of outdoor fun at its best, Indian Creek boasts 100 acres of developed recreation facilities, 250 acres of primitive camping area and the 2,250-acre Indian Creek Lake.

J.W. Davidson Memorial Park is a recreation park equipped with a playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball field, pavilion, and a covered picnic area.

Run by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

The Wild Azalea Trail has been designated a National Recreation Trail because of its outstanding scenic values.

 

The Wild Azalea Trail begins on Caster Plunge Road in Woodworth, Louisiana. Parking is available at the Woodworth Cemetery parking lot located on Caster Plunge Road.
